natural headache remedies
Save for later because when you need them... you NEED them. A comprehensive list of herbs, beverages, essential oils, habits and more to help you naturally combat your headaches
Somewhat recently, I had a viral infection that turned bacterial- which lasted roughly 20 days. WOOF. The latter end of the sickness was driven by extremely painful sinus pressure that was settling in my head and jawline, which truthfully was the most pain I’ve been in since my natural birth of our first son- HA. (I wish I was kidding or being dramatic, but it was miserable).
Using IG as a resource and calling upon all of my amazing followers for some of their go-to headache remedies, I saved the list of all that were submitted in addition to what’s in my natural “headache toolkit” in hopes that some of these remedies may be helpful for you in the future if you experience something similar!
As a FNTP, I do feel like I have to disclaim that if you are dealing with chronic headaches or migraines- there’s a deeper issue at hand that needs to be addressed. In my practice, chronic headaches are often rooted in specific mineral deficiencies, liver dysfunction, blood sugar dysregulation, etc. that need to be addressed!
Because dysregulated blood sugar is the most common root cause behind chronic headaches (especially right away in the morning or in the afternoon hours), here is a link to a more in depth post on ways to keep blood sugar regulated as well as some blood sugar friendly snacks to incorporate into your days!

Water + electrolytes
You can always add a pinch of sea salt to your water a few times a day, but I also recommend incorporating a clean electrolyte powder once or twice a day. My personal favorite, that I’ve used daily now for as long as I can remember, is lemon lime Re-Lyte! They have SO many flavors though, so feel free to browse around for one that speaks to you. I recommend avoiding electrolytes like Liquid IV, as it has a lot of added and unnecessary sugar.
